The 2023 growing season began with abundant winter rainfall, replenishing soil moisture across Napa Valley. A cool spring delayed budbreak and extended the growing season, followed by a mild summer that allowed the vines to develop slowly and evenly. These conditions provided exceptional hang time, enabling the fruit to reach full maturity while preserving freshness and balance. Rock Cairn is comprised of seven distinct blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, ranging from 6 to 41-year-old vines.
