Notes from the Winemaker:

A beautiful warm and early spring folded into temperate summer days-an envious season for any farmer. Beautifully proportioned tannins accompany classic right bank attributes and Napa Valley vibrancy. Cabernet Franc was stunning at harvest and graces the wine with summer berry, rose petal and a gentle hint of Lapsang tea. These are wines to experience in their youth and set aside for distant occasions.

Ratings & Reviews

98 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"From fruit grown in Oakville’s eastern hills, this cuvée (which includes 25% Cabernet Franc) is tiny: in 2013 a mere 249 cases were produces, so it won’t be easy to find. A powerful, charming nose of tobacco and cassis, which flows onto a rich, well-structured palate with plenty of plum flavours. The finish is memorable and long, showing clearly that this is a very smart wine."

95 Points - Robert Parker:
"Gallica’s beautiful 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has velvety tannins, loads of plum, blackberry and cassis fruit and a floral component. It has a medium to full-bodied personality that would suggest a suave complex wine from a Bordeaux or Margaux appellation. The wine is quite beautiful with purity, richness and an overall charm that make this an endearing effort in 2013. Moreover, it should drink well for another 20+ years."

95 Points -Antonio Galloni:
"The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard opens with knock-out aromatics. Mocha, espresso, dark red stone fruit, spice, leather and licorice all open up, but it is the aromatic presence and overall brilliance of the Cabernet Franc in the blend that really stands out and elevates the 2013. The tannins need time to soften, but all the elements are in the right place. Exquisitely layered and sublime, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is a winner from Rosemary Cakebread."

93 Points - James Suckling:
"This shows lots of shaved lead pencil and dark, purple fruits. Full body and chewy yet polished tannin texture. Needs time come together. Better in 2018."
