Notes from the Winemaker:
Frank Farella founded Farella-Park Vineyards in 1985 with a long-sought goal to grow fine wine grapes from a modest, depression-era background. His son, Tom Farella, took over in 1991 and led the winemaking until the end of 2018, continuing to work with lead Winemaker Ryan Pass today.
Focused on sustainability and conservation, the winery and vineyards are practicing organic and certified Napa Green & Fish Friendly.
Estate grown and produced and consistently rated, the wines embrace and highlight their Napa Valley terroir with elegance, balance, nuance, good structure and moderate alcohol.
Tart citrus, particularly grapefruit pith and lemon, along with fresh herbs, white peaches and a savory mineral-driven finish. Serve with seafood, a light salad or appetizers.
Ratings & Reviews
92 Points - James Suckling:
"Lime-zest, green-apple, wet-stone and subtle nettle aromas. It’s medium-bodied and wonderfully creamy with tangy acidity. Lots of refreshing lime curd and zest. Drink now."
91 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Coming from Coombsville, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc La Luce is a juicy, almost racy white that has plenty of tart citrus, sappy herbs, and salty mineral-like notes to go with a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, crisp and clean style on the palate. It's well done and reminds me of a solid Graves Blanc. Enjoy bottles over the coming 2-3 years."
90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc La Luce comes skipping out of the glass with invigorating scents of lemon curd, lime leaves and fresh grapefruit plus wafts of straw, dried Mediterranean herbs and white pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate has a lovely, soft-spoken, savory undercurrent to all the citrusy pizazz, with a racy backbone and herbal lift on the finish." - Lisa Perrotti-Brown (11/2020)
