About this Wine:
Born in the Einaudi vineyard at Vigna Terlo in Barolo. A great wine which ages well, garnet red with touches of amber, of intense and persistent bouquet, of great body and full taste, austere and velvety. Matured for 36 months in casks of 30 hl of Slavonian oak and of French Allier and refined over a long period in glass.

Stemming from the Nebbiolo grapes of the oldest vineyard of the Einaudi estates in Barolo.
A great wine which ages well, of a brilliant garnet red with touches of amber and distinctive orange tinges which intensify with age, of an intense and persistent bouquet, of great body and full taste, austere and velvety.
The tannic characteristics guarantee a long life in bottle. With time it acquires complexity as the ethereal aromas of spices, truffles and leather that substitute the fruitiness of the first years of its life.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2012 Barolo Terlo is big, powerful and also a touch bombastic. Dark cherries, plums, spices and new leather are some of the notes that inform this boisterous, decidedly flamboyant Barolo. Crushed flowers, spices, orange peel, exotic spices, mint and red-fleshed stone fruits meld into the resonant, creamy finish. Far from an easygoing wine, the 2012 Terlo is going to need a number of years to fully come together. With time in the glass, the 2012 just gets better and better, but it needs time to fully blossom." -Antonio Galloni (Mar 2016)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2012 Barolo Terlo is a shapely and nicely balanced Nebbiolo that shows both power and elegance. The wine delivers bright fruit with bold cherry and cassis that are immediately recognizable. As the bouquet opens, the wine offers pretty layers of ash, smoke, licorice, cola and rose hip. Overall, the wine delivers a great sense of balance and this is not an easy feat in the low-key 2012 vintage." - Monica Larner (May 2016)

90 Points - Wine Spectator:
"This taut red shows cherry and menthol flavors, all balanced by the firm, integrated structure. Shows fine length and follows through with licorice and spice accents. Best from 2018 through 2028. 600 cases made." - BS (Jun 30th, 2016)
