About the Domaine:
Jacques Seysses started Domaine Dujac in 1968 when  he bought the Domaine Graillet in Morey-Saint-Denis, which he renamed Domaine Dujac (a pun on his first name, meaning the Estate that Jacques owns).  This family-owned winery seeks to develop their vineyards through responsible vineyard techniques, which among other things led to the certification for organic farming in 2011.

About this Wine:
The Premier Cru Les Folatières is located on the westward slope of the village of Puligny-Montrachet, with an average gradient of 10%, an altitude between 250 and 272 meters, and an orientation towards the southeast.

The soil, a brown-red color, 40-60 centimeters thick, is very rich in angular, white limestone rocks.

The sub-soil of Folatières is made up of very compact limestone which crumbles into thick slabs, used as part of a marble quarry under the name “Pierre de Chassagne,” or “Stone of Chassagne.”

Ratings &Reviews

91-94 Points- Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"A vague whiff of the exotic is present in the form of passion fruit on the cool aromas of lemon-lime, acacia blossom and essence of pear. The much sleeker and more intense medium weight flavors possess excellent delineation on the sneaky long and very dry finale citrus-tinged finale. This is lovely and a wine that should repay a decade plus of cellaring. (Drink starting 2030)" (June 2022)

92 Points - Decanter Magazine:
"This is a larger parcel (1.16ha) than Combettes and fairly high on the slope, however the youthful vines here give a wine that is easy and forward, with ripe apple and pear fruit, a suggestion of marzipan, plus a touch of honey. The texture is approachable and open, with plenty of weight and noticeably less freshness than the Combettes. More a wine of broad appeal than one for connoisseurs. (Drink between 2025-2040)" - Charles Curtis (Nov 2021)

90-92 Points - Vinous Media:
" The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has a nicely detailed bouquet with fine delineation, orange pith and light linen scents developing with time. The palate is well balanced with tangy orange zest on the entry, quite linear and strict with a fresh finish, though it does not quite possess the mineralité of the Combettes. (Drink between 2024-2036)" - Neal Martin (Dec 2021)
