Tasted in its individual components, it has the riper yet still focused, structured style of the vintage, with classic aromatics of blue fruits, violets, iron, and ample textbook Clape bloody, meaty nuances. It's not going to be a massive Cornas and is more medium to full-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins and beautiful balance. It's a brilliant Clape in the making, as well as one for the traditionalist out there.” (Mar 2024)

96 Points – Decanter Magazine:

“A tasting of various barrel samples suggests that the 2022 vintage here will be very good, if not necessarily the most powerful year. The fruit is quite dark in character and there's a good sense of purity if not the same freshness as 2021 or 2020, or the grandeur of 2019. Nonetheless, an excellent wine and a fairly typical expression of Clape Cornas. Tannins are ripe and elegant.” – Matt Walls (Sep 2023)

93 Points – Vinous Media:

“The 2022 Cornas is both classic and rustic, with hints of ripe black fruits, earthy tones and leather on the nose. It's full-bodied, fleshy and expansive, showing elevated flavor concentration. Beefy and monolithic, the 2022 carries an introverted attitude, finishing with firm structure yet plenty of Clape personality. This needs time.” – Nicolas Greinacher (Jan 2025)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0481/8940/7391/files/Zb605wBwRCKVkg6kXEffDg_pb_x960_1c2f97ef-0346-4f0b-9978-7181b17cdedc.png?v=1712350557
https://artisan.wine/products/domaine-auguste-clape-cornas-2022-cornas-northern-rhone-france-750ml-dm-96-jd-95-97-vm-93
