About the Wine:
The Narrow Gauge wines are considered Croix Estate's regional position wines, where a thorough cross-section of vineyards make up a great-er good.

The vineyard sourcing for this wine is what brings it into greatness. Hailing from varying sections of the Russian River Valley, we have selected the following sources to produce the 2017 vintage: Baciagalupi Vineyard, Calesa Vineyard, Floodgate Vineyard, Platt Estate Vineyard, and Dutton Ranch's Manzana and Thomas Road Vineyards. This is a superior value for the horsepower found in this wine.

A fuller, broader and savory style of Pinot Noir, the nose opens with concentrations of sweet tobacco, rose water, black cherries and all-spice. The palate is exotic, expansive, yet focused with tongue curling acidity and a savory glide that finish-es with substantial length on the palate. The body is surprisingly full without overwhelming the tasting experience. This is pure enjoyment. 15 Barres Produced

Ratings & Reviews

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Medium ruby in the glass, the 2017 Pinot Noir Narrow Gauge has a very spicy nose of cinnamon, peppercorn, dried leaves and potpourri with warm black cherries and berries and crushed red cherries. Medium-bodied and silky with loads of spices in the mouth, it has soft, grainy tannins and juicy acidity with a long, layered finish. 515 cases produced." - Erin Brooks (30th Apr 2019)

91 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"Moving to the Pinot Noirs, the 2017 Pinot Noir Narrow Gauge comes from the Russian River Valley and spent 15 months in 40% new oak. This medium ruby colored effort offers a great nose of black raspberries, mulled cherries, pine forest floor, and dried earth. It's juicy, medium-bodied, has plenty of fruit, good acidity, and a great finish." - Jeb Dunnuck (6/14/2019)
