About the Winemaker:

Created by Etienne Grangeon in the 1950s, the property originally spread over 2 hectares of Grenache grew under the leadership of Alain, his son, who joined the estate in 1963. Passionate about viticulture, he notably contributed to the expansion of the estate by planting improving grape varieties such as Syrah and Mourvèdre and thus creating the Cristia identity, based on knowledge and respect for its predominantly sandy soils.

Today the Grangeon family owns just over 30 acres, spread across four different parcels: Le Cristia (which is broken into two parts, an upper and lower), Saint Georges and La Roquete. They have a number of old vines, and in a normal year they produce four Chateauneufs, a traditional red and white, and two special cuvées.

Tasting Notes:
This wine benefits from aging in wood which gives it a beautiful structure. The well-balanced acidity gives it a pleasant length on the palate. We find aromas of fresh and ripe fruit which add a dimension of freshness and deliciousness. It will go perfectly with roast chicken, Bolognese pasta, a cheese platter or grilled salmon.

Ratings & Reviews

92 Points - Vinous Media:
"The 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is made of 80% Clairette and 20% Roussanne, aged for 6 months in demi-muids . It displays generous aromas of honeysuckle, quince, yellow apple, pear, white peach and cedar. Medium-bodied, deep and concentrated, it concludes with a sapid finish.” – Nicolas Grenacher (June 2023)

91-94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The style of the whites here has shifted recently, but the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc appears to be a subtle return to the richer style of the estate. Rocking levels of ripe peach and honeyed orange as well as toasted spice and licorice all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with a round, layered mouthfeel, good acidity, and a great finish. It's clearly an outstanding white that will stand on its own or shine on the dinner table." (Nov 2022)
