Notes from the Winemaker:
The Fremiers (0,79 ha) are located south of Pommard, right below the Rugiens, at the start of the slope. The red and brown soil, which is rich with both clay and limestone, is deeper (0.6-0.8m) than that of the Rugiens. The wines produced are very elegant and sophisticated. The aromas that can be identified lean towards fine spices and cooked fruits such as prunes. The tannins are very refined.
To be served at 15°C.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"Here the nose offers a notable step up in aromatic refinement with its cool and airy yet notably serious mix of various red berries, earth, tea and floral nuances. There is fine volume and excellent richness to the mouth coating and relatively powerful medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a dusty, persistent and mildly austere finale that is more structured still. The tannins are dense but fine and this should amply reward 10 to 15 years of cellaring." - (Apr 15, 2016)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer:
Inviting soil-driven scents of redcurrant, red licorice and spices, with a touch of wildness. Fine-grained and suave but sappy too, with a dominant flavor of raspberries macerated in alcohol with spicy accents. Lovely finesse of texture owing to the long elevage. Finishes broad and dry, with substantial seamless tannins arriving late. The crop level here was an infinitesimal seven hectoliters per hectare.

Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Aromatic and spicy, exhibiting woodsy incense notes and wild berry fruit flavors. Starts out silky, turning firm and dense on the lingering finish. Best from 2019 through 2032. 100 cases imported." BS (Web Only - 2016)
