Ratings & Reviews

93 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Ultraripe aromas of raisin, oud wood and musky men's cologne are attractive and complex for a young Cabernet that's putting out at max level in terms of lushness and extraction. Deep oaky blackberry and chocolate flavors hold onto a café-mocha note on a full finish. Drink through 2024." - Michael Schachner (3/1/2019)

93 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Elegantly styled, with lots of luscious savory spice accents to the flavors of dark plum, bittersweet chocolate and mocha that are long and rich. The creamy finish completes the package. Drink now through 2024. 580 cases made, 162 cases imported." — KM (Dec 31, 2018)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"A very open red with dried flowers and dark berries. Walnuts and hazelnuts, too. Full body, round and soft tannins and a nice chewy finish. Delicious now." - (April 5, 2018)

92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"(this wine includes the fruit that normally makes up the top-of-the-line Volturno bottling): Bright ruby-red, a bit less dark than the Cobos Malbec Marchiori Estate. Aromas of cassis, licorice and graphite minerality, plus an obvious oakiness (65% new French for 18 months). Densely packed but doesn't show quite the flavor intensity or sheer fruity thrust of the top Malbec bottlings. Flavors of cassis and black cherry are a bit medicinal and closed in the early going. Finishes with an intriguing saline quality. Not hugely ripe but then this wine is carrying a solid 14.5% alcohol from a rainy year." - Stephen Tanzer (Jul 2018)

90+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"An even more difficult year for Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes for the 2015 Bramare Cabernet Sauvignon Marchiori Estate had to be severely sorted to keep the quality level and the volumes. This is the top Cabernet bottled in 2015 (it was not produced in 2014), as no Volturno was produced in 2015. It has the combination of herbal and ripe aromas that I found in many Cabernets from 2015, but it's clean, even if it is not a super vintage for the bottling, the oak is nicely integrated and the tannins are fine. I uncorked a second bottle, and it showed better definition and more freshness. It's probably better uncorked and drunk—and perhaps should be drunk in the medium rather than long term. 6,960 bottles were produced." - Luis Gutiérrez (29th Jun 2018)
