Notes from the Winemaker:

It is the stony ground to which the vine clings that has given rise to the name of this exceptional " climat ": " Perrieres ". This Premier Cru has been renowned for its finesse and pureness for many years : in the mid 19th century, the wine maker, M. de Vergnette stated in one of his works that "Apart from the true Montrachets, I know of no other white wine so exquisite". Later, Dr. Lavalle mentioned it as " Tete de cuvee " in his 1855 rating.

Ratings & Reviews

92-94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Aromas of ripe lemons, praline, crushed chalk and white flowers introduce the 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrieres, a medium to full-bodied, pure and chiseled wine with lovely mid-palate amplitude, a bright line of acidity and a chalky, tight-knit core. Like the Genevrieres, this is one of the highlights from chez Bouchard this year." - William Kelley (4th Jan 2019)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"A classically vibrant and intense Meursault with fine citrus, stones and bright, ripe peaches, leading to a very assertive and concentrated palate with great richness and acidity, driving long and deep. The power here is exceptional. Drink across the next decade." - (February 12, 2019)

90-92 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2017 Meursault Perrieres 1er Cru comes from 1.2 hectares of vine. It has a touch of reduction on the nose that makes it difficult to read at the moment. The palate is fresh on the entry, offering light orange pith, apricot and white peach notes. Slightly waxy in texture, with a spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Fine." - Neal Martin (Jan 2019)
