About the winery:
Argiano is certainly one of the icons of Montalcino, consistently releasing first-rate premium Brunello and Super-Tuscans that garner scores up to 98 points! They have the ultimate wine producing team which includes Sebastiano Rosa as General Manager of the Estate: having spent six years at the University of California at Davis, a two year tenure at Chateau Lafite Rothschild and three years at Sassacaia, he brings a strong mix of experience.

In addition, Dr. Giacomo Tachis, the most well-known winemaker in Italy, was their Consulting Oenologist until his death in 2016.  His legacy includes Sassacaia, Tignanello and Solaia, to name a few. Finally, since 2013, the winery has been owned - and the wines made - by Bernardino Sani, a rising star in Montalcino.

Intense nose with aromas of wild berries, flowers and red berries, along with hints of caramel. Medium-bodied with freshness and concentration. Soft tannins are perfectly integrated.

Ratings & Reviews

94+ Points - Luca Gardini:
"As the Argiano’s crew use to say, a ‘baby Supertuscan’, one of the most exciting blend of the new Tuscan wave. Cabernet Sauvignon in a leading role, at 50%, then Sangiovese 25%, Merlot 20%, Petit Verdot 5%, sour cherries under spirit, peony, hints of undergrowth at the nose, the mouthfeel is also intense, dense, fruity, with brackish tannins and a balsamic scent that reappears in the aftertaste."

94 Points - Raffaele Vecchione, WinesCritic.com:
"Extremely captivating, it alternates a mature profile of strawberries, black plums and cloves with nuances of bay, black tea leaves and pepper. The background of broken stems and cumin increases its complexity. Full body, precise and vibrant tannins, lightly biting and austere and a finish of slender progression that lasts on the palate for a minute. Incredible structure for a Super Tuscan that is getting closer and closer to its big brother. Better from 2023." (6/21)

93 Points - James Suckling:
"Dark berries with walnuts, hazelnuts and white pepper on the nose, following through to a full body with ultra-fine tannins and a chewy yet refined finish. Needs two or three years to come together. Drink after 2023." (6/9/21)

92 Points - Wine Spectator:
"Vibrant yet silky, boasting black cherry, blackberry, violet and iron flavors. The iron fist emerges by way of the firm tannins, and this finishes with a long aftertaste of fruit and dried herbs. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Sangiovese. Drink now through 2030. 7,920 cases made." -BS (3/21/21)

90 Points - Vinous:
"The zesty 2019 Non Confunditur wafts up with a darkly alluring yet also wonderfully fresh bouquet, as blackberries and currants give way to rubbed sage and crushed ashen stone. This is silky-smooth and soothing, casting a polished display of black and red berries across the palate, as mineral-driven tension forms toward the close. Sweet tannins create a sensation of youthful poise, yet they don't get in the way of the primary fruits that saturate throughout the long finish. Non Confunditur is refined in second and third-pass barriques and tonneaux, and it is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon along with 20% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese. (Drink between 2022-2027)" -EG (1/1/22)
